IM GOING TO CRY.
I’ve never sang for anyone before but always told them I sing great. My mom is putting me in private voice lessons and choir. The choir expects me to be a super good singer because they all aren’t good singers.
I just recorded myself singing a couple easy songs like The Prayer and I STINK. I ABSOLUTELY STINK. I can reach high notes but they don’t sound good. it sounds like I can’t hold a note. If I sing for people, they’ll think I’m a liar!!! I read around that its my real voice. THAT ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT BE MY REAL VOICE.
My brothers, all three, the only people I’ve ever sang for, say I have an amazing voice – like I sing like Jackie Evancho, and they rated me NINE OUT OF TEN.
I used a 2005 iMac mic. Is it the mic!? please help me… i’m absolutely devastated.

Obvcourse they would say you’re a brilliant singer they’re your family just because you can’t sing doesn’t mean you shouldn’t join the choir
Try singing songs in your range. That may fix the problem sing lower songs that font have high notes. If you aren’t as good as you thought vocal lessons will definitly help

Okay one of the main reasons you hate your voice is because -=- well it’s YOUR voice. When You hear your own voice you will almost alwaysss think its disgusting. If I were you I would practice singing and warming up with a piano. IF you don’t have access to one there are trillions of virtual keyboards online. Go over some leaps between keys and sing them out and make sure you’re warmed up. Hopefully this will help the part where you don’t think you can hold the notes. Assuming your brothers are blunt about their rating I’d say the only real thing you have to worry about is getting comfortable with your voice (doing this will optimize your abilities)

Hope this helped!
okay CAAALM down mmk?
it’s the fact that you haven’t heard your voice before on recording. you’ll never really hear it how others do because it’s right. it’s YOUR voice, therefore you’ll be more critical. i mean yeah, maybe they are just saying that. maybe your mic sounds different or something. but, when i first did that i thought the same thing. i don’t have problems anymore though. wanna know why? because i trained my voice. through choir and lessons.
